② 当firm和company都作为“公司”的含义来讲，区别在于：

-> a. 不同范围的大小 -> firm意思比较广泛，可指公司、或商号，规模可大可小，经营、管理的人员可多可少；company多指生产或销售产品的公司或商号，也可指经办服务性项目的公司。

-> b. 使用场合正式性不同，company（公司）的意思比较常见，使用率较高。

-> c. 单词的词性不同：company -> 用作名词和动词；firm -> 可以作为名词、形容词、动词和副词使用，形容词坚定的使用率较高，

firm作形容词来讲，和solid，stable的区别：

solid：固体的（非流体的）

firm：稳固的（不松动的）
